Meet Jo, A Life Built on Love for Pets
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. When I was 7, my sisters and I had a habit of bringing home strays, much to our parents' dismay. Of course, we could never keep them, but we always tried.
Growing up, my home was full of furry (and scaly) companions, rabbits, hamsters, fish, snakes… even a rabbit we called Houdini, who somehow lived to be 15 despite his many escapes.
But it was Lottie and Jess, my two beloved dogs, who truly shaped my life. Lottie, our sweet rescue, and Jess, a wild Springer Spaniel with a heart of gold, were there through everything: moves, marriage, babies, and heartbreak.
In 2017, we lost Jess to kidney failure, and five weeks later, Lottie followed. Losing them felt like losing part of myself. But they left behind something powerful, the spark that led me to start caring for other people’s pets.

From Grief to Joy, Building Something Meaningful
After losing them, I found comfort in boarding dogs with another company. I did it for four years and loved every second of it, the different breeds, personalities, and stories.
Then COVID hit. Like many, I felt the void, no travel, no boarding, and no “fur fix.” But soon after, Willow came into our lives. She’s my sidekick now, and a constant reminder of why I do this.
In 2022, I finally took the leap. Jo’s Pet Services was born, built on years of experience, a deep love for animals, and a desire to give pets the same care and comfort mine had.
And the logo? My daughter drew it when she was just 10. It’s part of my story, and will always be part of my brand.
Meet Lottie and Jess, the beautiful souls who inspired it all.
